Junior High / Confirmation Ministry St.
Paul Youth Ministry for junior high youth in grades 7 and 8, revolves around a
two and one half year Confirmation program. The purpose statement for this Confirmation
Ministry reads: “to provide opportunity for the adolescent to
enter into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ and the Christian community
so that he/she can affirm and
accept the lifelong commitment and
responsibility of his/her baptism.” To this end St. Paul uses Faith Inkubators
“Head to Heart” curriculum materials which offer a complete, parent-involved, small group
ministry approach. “The goal of H2H is
not just to "get through" the junior high years but to teach content
so it sticks in young minds, grow junior high small groups into senior high
small groups, and to equip families to be involved in faith dialogue with each
other at home.” (from the Faith Inkubators website). St. Paul confirmation
students just say, “It is fun!!!
Wednesday
Night LIIFEE
Lutherans Increasing In Faith Education & Experience is held
at the church from 5:30 – 7:00 PM most of the Wednesdays each month. It
consists of a large group learning time led by one of the pastors and a small
group review/discussion time led by an adult/parent “guide.” Usually one
Wednesday each month is set aside for a large or small group service project. Sunday
morning, several times throughout the year fellowship activities, trips, and
social events are scheduled on various weekend days. Confirmation Camp (for rising
seventh grades through departing eighth graders) is held at Lutheran Camp
Yolijwa near Oak Glen, CA during the final week of June. The Rite of
Affirmation of Baptism / Confirmation is conducted yearly on the second Sunday
of October at the 9:15 Sunday Morning Service.

Senior High
Youth Ministry
St. Paul Senior High Youth Ministry adheres to The Lutheran
Youth Organization guidelines for programming in Education, Fellowship and
Service for youth in Grades 9-12. Senior Highs gather each Sunday morning
following the sermon during the 9:15 service for a time of sharing and
reflection on that message for the day.
Weekly gatherings for more in depth Bible
Study or topic discussion are generally held on Sunday evenings from 5:30 –
7:00 in the Youth Center at the church. Special events – fun and fellowship
outings, Lock-Ins, fun&fundraisers – are often scheduled on alternate
nights and weekend days. A major component of the program consists of group and
individual service projects.
Sr. High
youth participate regularly in worship as musicians, readers, ushers, greeters;
